Georg additionally mentions antisemitic regulations pertaining to a "Sperrkonto" (blocked account). The Third Reich forced emigrating Jews to deposit their assets into such accounts, which were then devalued to 1/5 of their original amount. The "Sperrkonto" (blocked account), as well as the "Reichfluchtsteuer" (Reich Flight Tax), were intended to divest German Jews of their financial security.

Lieber Max!

Dear Max,
After consultation with my friends at the bank, I would like to tell you the following information, as Viktor just explained to me:
“Since, after emigration, an application to the foreign exchange office is required to sell securities in a foreigner’s blocked deposit account, which will then to be credited to an emigrant’s blocked account (which is approved according to Circular 1/36 III Paragraph 4), it is probably advisable that you soon give me permission to sell your securities. Discuss this with your advisor!
At any rate, you would have to sell your 1,000 Reichsmarks in debt register claims* beforehand. Obtain a form from the Reichsbank there and fill it out with the following statement: “to be transferred to the Berlin Kassenverein bank.” Have your signature notarized by the Reichsbank** and ask that the form be returned to you, especially since the sale will occur here. Afterwards, please send me the form here as soon as possible.”
Warm regards,
Father
*I already sent you this certificate.
**Otherwise, the signature would have to be certified by a notary, which would cost unnecessary money and time. Of course, you must present identification to the Reichsbank (your passport or a similar document).
