Mein lieber Maxel!
Deine lieben Karten vom 22. Okt. an mich u. vom 8. Okt. an Vater habe ich erhalten. Letztere sende ich an Vater nach. Ich hoffe Du setzt mit ihm direct in Verbindung. – Wir sind für ein paar Tage hier, gedenken aber am Mittwoch wieder nach Bl. zurückzukehren. Wir wohnen bei Paul, dessen arme Frau am 25. IX von ihrem schweren Leiden erhört wurde. Vielleicht kondolierst Du mit ein paar Zeilen. Von Vater habe ich leider nur ein Telegramm, das seine gute Ankunft in Oldenzaal meldete, erhalten. Er wurde dort von Ernst abgeholt. Uns geht es gut.

Dear Max,
I received your nice postcards from October 22nd (to me) and October 8th (to Father). I'll forward the latter to Father. I hope you can get in touch with him directly. We are here for a few days but plan to return to Berlin on Wednesday. We are staying with Paul, whose poor wife was relieved of her terrible suffering on September 25th. Perhaps you can express your condolences in a note. Unfortunately, I only received a telegram from Father announcing his safe arrival in Oldenzaal. Erst picked him up there. We're doing well.
