Mein liebes Maxel! In Hannover gedenken wir Deiner herzlichst. Vater ist auf der Reise zu Ernst. Wir begleiten ihn ein Stück Weges und beabsichtigen vorläufig wieder nach Bleicherode zurückzukehren. Du kannst Dir danken, daß wir schweren Herzens sind. Hoffentlich erhalten wir gute Nachricht von Vater. Sei herzlichst gegrüßt und schreibe öfter. Hoffentlich bis Du gesund.

In Hannover, we are thinking about you with affection. Father is on his way to Ernst’s. We are accompanying him for part of the way and intend to return to Bleicherode for the time being. You can imagine that we are very sad. Hopefully, we'll receive good news from Father. Greetings and write more often. I hope you are healthy.
