Kasimir Fajans was a student of Georg Bredig at the University of Heidelberg. Fajans was a pioneer in the science of radioactivity and discovered the element protactinium. In 1932, he was the head of the Institute of Physical Chemistry. In 1935, he fled Germany and relocated to Ann Arbor, Michigan. Fajans worked with Bredig's son, Max Albert Bredig (1902-1977), at the University of Michigan.
Bror Holmberg was a Swedish chemist and professor who contributed to the field of stereochemistry.
