Lieber Max-Albert!

Dear Max Albert,
I just received a postcard from Fajans in Munich with the following message:
Munich, 11 March 1936: “Dear Friend, I am in the middle of packing, but I wanted to quickly let you know that I accepted the appointment offer in Ann Arbor*, which was sent by telegraph. The position will start in either July or September. More details to follow after March 6th. Sincerely, K. Fajans”
I think that he will write to me after March 16th something about your letter too. It might be a good idea to send him a friendly congratulatory note regarding his appointment in the USA. Don’t you think?
Warm regards,
Father
