Lieber Max! Hoffentlich gute.
Mit vielen Grüssen von uns Allen
Dein Vater

Dear Max, I just received a cover letter from the Berlin Police Headquarters (Series II 5020 B. 1207137 from March 16, 1938) with several of my documents (my birth certificate, my Heidelberg residence certificate, my military discharge certificate from Glogau, and my father’s death certificate) and your birth certificate. There was a request to pay a fee (10 Reichsmark) in Berlin: “After receipt of the fee, the identity card will be sent to the responsible German Consulate General.” I just sent the requested amount to Berlin from my giro account. You can expect to receive your residence certificate soon. I hope to finally receive some news from you again soon. Hopefully good news!
With best regards from all of us,
Father
