Black and white photos of Glenn T. Seaborg (1912-1999) and President John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) at the American Energy Commission (now the U.S. Department of Energy) headquarters in Germantown, Maryland. Only twenty-seven days after his inauguration, President Kennedy took a helicopter to the AEC headquarters, where Seaborg, the AEC's chairman, introduced the AEC program and briefed the president on the fundamentals of atomic and nuclear structure.
