Aerial view of a Rohm and Haas Company nylon manufacturing plant located in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Rohm and Haas, an international chemical company headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, opened the plant in 1965 as part of an effort to diversify the company's product offerings to include fibers and health products. However, due to a lack of profit, these product lines and facilities were sold off by 1977.
