Thank you letter from Vladimir Ipatieff (1867-1952) to Georg Bredig (1868-1944). Ipatieff, also spelled Iptyev, was a Russian chemist who made contributions in the field of petroleum chemistry and catalysts. In 1930, he fled Russia and immigrated to the United States where he became a chemistry professor at Northwestern University.
