Perspective and plan views of a graphic representation of the periodic table of chemical elements as a helix and space lemniscate, with the helix drawn for the short periods and the space lemniscate drawn for the medium periods. This table was originated by English radiochemist Frederick Soddy (1877-1956) in 1914 and classified by chemist Edward G. Mazurs as Type IIA2-2 in his seminal work Types of Graphic Representation of the Periodic System of Chemical Elements (1957).
