Biography of American scientific writer, editor and lecturer Edward Livingston Youmans (1821-1887) who founded Popular Science magazine. Youman experienced partial blindness at age 17, which lasted until he was about 30 years old. The front matter and chapters on his blindness have been digitized from this book.
