Bredig tells Fajans that he will be unable to attend the 50th anniversary of the Karlsruhe Chemical Society. He referred other chemists who had studied with his father, Georg Bredig (1868-1944). He purposefully excluded Walter König (1878-1964), who in 1933 had signed the Vow of allegiance of the Professors of the German Universities and High-Schools to Adolf Hitler and the National Socialistic State. This document was signed by those who supported the removal of Jewish academics and the Third Reich.
The letter ends with personal and professional updates from Bredig to Fajans.
