Finished wooden box; four metal feet on bottom (box must be set on its side for instrument to function); top of box has two brass holders for missing handle and metal strip; side lifts up half way exposing a painted metal instrument panel; panel has two cylindrical metal knobs on upper left side and a large meter in center; meter has a glass panel over a paper gauge; numbers on gauge range from 0 to 15; metal plaque on folded lid identifies manufacturer, model number, and serial number.
Ammeters measure electric current--either alternating (ac) or direct (dc).
