An advertisement for Rumford baking powder can be found on the first page with the last page containing an illustration of the various medals the baking powder has won including the 1876 Centennial Exposition and the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition. Also contains a history of the Rumford Chemical Works on the inside back cover. Recipes are divided up by "Bread, Biscuit, Rolls, Gems, etc.," "Muffins, Waffles, Short Cake, Gingerbread," "Griddle Cakes and Drop Cakes," "Fritters, Doughnuts, Crullers," "Pastry and Pies," "Cake and Cookies," "Cake Fillings and Frostings," "Puddings," "Pudding Sauces," "Recipes for the Chafing Dish," and "Recipes for Teas, Receptions, etc.."
