This table was originated by Estonian chemist Eduard von Stackelberg (1867-1943) in 1911 and classified by chemist Edward G. Mazurs as Type IIA2-3 in his seminal work Types of Graphic Representation of the Periodic System of Chemical Elements (1957). A version of this table appears as Figure 51 on page 124 of Mazurs' 1957 publication.
