Caricature of American chemist Charles August Kraus (1875-1967) created by artist J.C. Weller at the 1931 American Chemical Society National Meeting in Buffalo, New York. A professor of chemistry and director of the chemical laboratories at Brown University, Kraus is best known for research projects contributing to the development of Pyrex glass and the production of ethyl gasoline.
