From text: "The photograph taken by Mr. Brothers is very valuable, since it shows the halo extending towards the north-west, about two diameters of the Moon, and on the east and south about one diameter; the halo, therefore, is not concentric with either the Sun or Moon, but extends to the greatest distance in the direction from which the Moon is moving."
