Mein geliebtes, gutes Vaterle!
Eure Marianne.

Dear Father,
We thought about you a lot yesterday. Early in the morning while still in bed, we both wished you a Happy Birthday. Next, while I was getting dressed, Viktor bought flowers and gave them to me. He said they were dahlias (but they weren’t, poor fellow!) While eating, we drank 1 glass to your health! Today is Viktor's birthday. Aunt Valley visited us unexpectedly despite the rain, which made us very happy. How did you spend your birthday? I hope you are doing as well as we are. Unfortunately, we don’t hear anything from the children and not enough from you. Warm regards from me and Viktor.
Marianne
