Lieber Max Albert!

Dear Max Albert,
I urgently request an immediate update on the status of your scholarship from the Göttingen funding committee. Since Fajans is going on vacation on July 30th, we must know beforehand so we can figure out what to do about the scholarship from the Munich funding committee. In my opinion, you must submit your application independently, but have Professor Fajans endorse it. I will write you more about this as soon as you send me the response requested at the beginning of this letter.

At any rate, you must ask Professor Pohl for a reference for your work in Göttingen. You will also need it later. This is quite common for older colleagues and if often required by mine. You must also ask him to give you 20-30 copies of the eventual publication (ultimately at your expense).
Best wishes from your Father, who is in a hurry.
