Caricature of American chemist, biochemist, and peace activist Linus Pauling (1901-1994) created by artist J.C. Weller at the 1931 American Chemical Society National Meeting in Buffalo, New York. One of the founders of the fields of quantum chemistry and molecular biology, as well as an advocate for nuclear disarmament, Pauling received both the Nobel Prize in Chemistry (1954) and the Nobel Peace Prize (1962).
