Lieber Freund! Also herzlich willkommen, wenn Du kommst.
Dein lieber Svante Arrhenius

Dear Friend,
From your kind note, I sense that you perhaps think that your personal safety is at risk here because of the major strike, but that is by no means the case. It has never been so quiet because no brandy is being consumed. Last week, it also looked like there might be a rail strike. We would have risked staying in Trondheim while the dedication ceremony took place here. The situation would not have been dangerous, but rather extremely funny. Resingamm and Basset are traveling to Lapland today. The suspension of express trains is unlikely. You are more than welcome to visit. Hopefully, the strike will be over when you are here. Best wishes from me and my wife!
Yours truly,
Svante Arrhenius
