Portrait print of French chemist, biologist and microbiologist Louis Pasteur (1822-1895) and his granddaughter Camille Vallery-Radot (1880-1927). This print is based on a painting that was commissioned by Jacob Christian Jacobsen (1811-1887), who was the director of the Carlsberg Breweries, and was intended as a gift for Pasteur. The painting is after a photograph by Ad. Braun & Company.

Pasteur is credited with discovering the principles of vaccination, microbial fermentation and pasteurization. His scientific discoveries provided a better understanding of the cause and prevention of diseases.
