General view of the first drawing machine used at DuPont's Buffalo plant during the early stages of nylon production and research. In this technique, which generally was unsuccessful, undrawn yarn was pre-twisted by the bobbin visible on the far right and then cold drawn in two stages. This photograph was included in a progress report for the Buffalo plant covering work from April 1st to June 26th, 1936.
