Scenes from the 50th anniversary gathering of the American Chemical Society, during which members and chemists from around the world traveled to Northumberland, Pennsylvania to visit Joseph Priestley's grave and dedicate his home as a museum. This footage was originally shot on film by American chemist Alexander Silverman and transferred to a VHS cassette tape at an unknown date. This file is a digitized version of the VHS cassette. Footage of the 1926 event includes Charles E. Munroe, Ernst Cohen, S.A. Goldschmidt, A. A. Brenneman, H. R. Bender, James Flack Norris, and Charles Albert Browne, Jr.. The film ends abruptly with a title card indicating there may be further (unincluded) footage from the remainder of the ACS meeting in nearby Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
